One of the more interesting developments of the winter of 2019-2020 was Stupa Hills with around 100 apartments and penthouses in a good location. This was a strong competitor to the more expensive but popular Higueron West.

Located next to Benalmadena Pueblo, next to the famous Buddhist statue. This is a very nice area, with good public transport connections and close to most things. Simply a good atmosphere (there is a reason why the Buddhist statue was placed here, as the energies are considered to be "harmonious"). Also nearby are the De Altos del Higuerón shopping town center , various hospitals,
international schools and sports and leisure activities such as golf courses and several theme parks. More about all this below further down in the article.

Phase 3 which was the last phase is the most elevated location of all phases. 2 or 3 bedrooms, large terraces (30 sqm plus) facing south. storage room , plus parking. Spa and Wellness center.

Apartments, penthouse and duplexes with:

  • 2-4 bedrooms
  • bathroom 2-3
  • Building areas 91 sqm -193 sqm
  • Terraces: 0 sqm -66 sqm

Example: "Apartment 2 L in Phase 3 E I would recommend. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. Built Area : 93 sqm . Terrace area: 30.5 sqm . Exactly what you need and one of the better price ranges in the project.".

  • 14 minutes by car (1 hour on foot) to the famous marina in Benalmadena, which has twice won price for "Best marina in the world". Here you will also find Sealife Benalmadena, etc. We especially recommend dolphin safaris on the open sea, which depart from the harbor.

Investing in Malaga and its surrounding area is Spain's best investment opportunity in 2019 and for a long time to come

Andalusia is the heart of Spain, and its natural window to the world is Costa del Sol, with the growing metropolis Malaga as its natural hub. Few places in the world can offer such a diverse culture, history and nature within such a short distance.

Housley.com has listed which industries have the greatest impact on the value of a home (Stupa Hills in Benalmadena meets most of the following points). 1. Good schools. 2. General green spaces and parks. 3. Technology companies. 4. Amusement parks. In the example, they state that the median value of a home in Orlando (near Disney World) is $342,000, and just 45 minutes away in Cocoa Beach, the median value is $170,000. 5. Grocery stores which has good cheeses and wines, as well as organic products in the assortment. 6. A cinema in the neighborhood. 7. Bars and restaurants. 8. University. 9. Public transport, such as light rail, can, according to statistics from California and Oregon, increase the value by 2-18%. 10. Proximity to “Big Box Stores” such as IKEA.

Also note that the prices of off-plan homes in Spain increase significantly when they are key-ready (This was the case even before the crisis, and also afterwards since they started building again from around 2016 – including in more remote areas, such as Ladera del Mar 2). Sometimes up to 40%.

In addition to the statistics looking stronger every year, there are many projects underway that will make the situation look, if possible, even brighter for Malagaarea. Let's take a look at four of the projects that are underway in the near future.

Amusement attractions in progress

Near Stupa Hills (5 minutes by car) is the amusement park Tivoli World, which will be renovated for €300 million. The entire area will be developed into an area for commerce, relaxation and entertainment. In addition to hotels, hypermarkets and a concert hall, 43 new modern attractions and green spaces will also be built. The most exciting planned attractions include a Mount Everest attraction (including a spectacular artificial snow machine), as well as a mini Formula 1 track. When Tivoli World is fully renovated, homes in the surrounding area increase significantly in value.

In the neighboring municipality Torremolinos there is also a growing desire for expansion after a few years of stagnation. “Intu Costa del Sol” in Torremolinos is planned to be the world's first "global resort ", a gigantic (235,000 sqm ) and innovative melting pot for art, relaxation, activities (wind tunnel, rock climbing, etc.), shopping, food experiences, beach club, casino, and large areas dedicated exclusively to children. The area can perhaps be described as a more relaxed, Mediterranean-inspired Las Vegas. There will be 2 hotels, a concert arena by the sea, over 70 restaurants, 262,000 sqm of green spaces inspired by “Central Park, but with the lushness of the Mediterranean and proximity to water”, a funfair, 142,000 sqm of shopping areas, conference facilities, Spain's largest urban farm, water-land, etc. etc. [Update 19/9. The project has been given the green light and construction will begin in 2020]. Intu Costa del Sol is ready for inauguration as early as 2023. This investment will cost €800 million.

Gigantic entertainment area in Torremolinos is planned

A little further east in Rincon (approx. 30 minutes by car from Benalmadena) the authorities have approved the construction of a unique Dinosaur theme park, near the famous old The Treasure CavesThe developers aim to build the most successful family park on Costa del Sol and the area will, in addition to educational exhibitions about dinosaurs (35 copies of dinosaurs will be created, of which 16 will be "moving"), have hiking trails and cable cars, etc.

The biggest attraction of them all, which will attract more tourists and more international attention than any other attraction in Andalusia, will be the over 160-kilometer long hiking trail Senda Litoral which will become one of Spain's biggest tourist attractions. It connects all the towns (via bridges, walkways, and in some places tunnels) along Costa del Sol and offers a spectacular walk along the sea, from Nerja in the east, to Sotogrande in the west. The trail is already completed in many places, but is not fully ready for official opening until 2022-2023.

The trend is increasingly clear that tourists want to use Malaga as a base for their holidays on Costa del Sol. From there, they can easily explore all the theme parks, beaches, shopping opportunities, and not least all the cultural, historical and gastronomic highlights this part of Spain has to offer by train, car or on foot. By high-speed train, bus or rental car, you can easily and comfortably visit internationally acclaimed places such as Granada, Cordoba, Seville (don't miss "New Rome", the ruined city of Italica with hot springs nearby! Filming location for Game of Thrones), Ronda, Cadiz, and GibraltarThere is also much else to do and see here, such as protected nature parks with rich wildlife (including unique birdlife with Flamingos and the exciting “imperial eagle”), spectacular hiking trails in the mountains or along rivers, the surf resort Tarifa, the Sierra Nevadaski resort, etc. By the way, did you know that day trips are also organized with ferries to Marofrom Costa Del Sol ?

The trend to stay in hotels/houses during the holidays here to stay and the hotel industry in Malagaprovince is not as strong as in many other tourism regions. Everything indicates that this is an excellent investment, both for income from rentals and property value growth of the home. We have a rental office in central Malaga and are continuously looking for homes to rent in its vicinity. Do you want to rent your home through us? Write to info@spanskafastigheter.se
