About 30 minutes drive from Malaga or from Marbella is the most famous holiday resort on the Costa del Sol, by Swedes, namely Fuengirola. It is so popular that there are more tourists there than residents. The city reaches a population of 60,000 inhabitants while the number of tourists ends up somewhere between 200,000 and 400,000. This gives the city an international atmosphere where people come from all over the world to relax on the long sandy beaches, swim in the beautiful sea and discover what the city has to offer. There are plenty of things to see and do in the city. Experience the culinary life by trying out some of the over 400 different wonderful restaurants and visit the Costa del Sol's largest market at the feria square for a little (or a lot) of shopping. Here you can find a bargain every Tuesday or just walk around and soak up the atmosphere and all the beauty that the market has on display.
