Update 2024. There are few homes for sale in Higueron West today and they are priced high in our opinion. For those looking for a similar concept, but with a beachfront location and significantly lower prices, we recommend this project with first-line apartments.
For those looking for something completely extra, this project with apartments on the first line in Malaga is recommended. Next door to the famous Malaga Towers.
Now this project is also available in Marbella (Soul) as perhaps the best option for those looking for a luxury home in a resort-like area. A slightly cheaper resort option is also found on the New Golden Mile, Estepona.

Phase 1 is already ready to move into and phase 2 and phase 3 will be ready (there are a few homes left for sale in these phases as well) to move into in August. The beach club which is down on the beach is already open and there is full construction going on in the area.
Phase 10 consists of villas with 3 or 4 bedrooms.
Phase 9 , which has been on sale since last summer, is sold out (like most previous phases). In this phase, there are somewhat smaller homes (mainly smaller apartments and garden villas, with vegetable gardens, etc.). 2 bedrooms, 67 m2, plus terrace 22 m2. Some are still available in this price range. Expected to be completed Q1 2023. Owners of these apartments will also have the same benefits with, for example, a Platinum card to the sports club and access to the beach club. They will also have a rental company where apartments can be rented out through if we want. Note, however, that these apartments for under 300,000 do not have a sea view.
Phase 9 is closest to the sea in the entire project. Nothing can be built before this phase. Everything else that is built or to be built in the areas around this part of the Solkusten is high up in the mountains. Due to the current crisis, it may also take a long time before there are other options. Thus, if you want new development around Benalmadena or Fuengirola, our advice is this project. Higueron West 217
This is the largest and most spectacular, and according to many, one of the most attractive projects built in this part of Spain. At the end of 2019, over 400 homes were sold! The reason for these outstanding figures is that this is a project that in every way offers the discerning buyer "that little extra", such as access to the Spa and other facilities at the area's five-star hotel, concierge services with babysitting, electric car rental and charging stations, large terraces with sea views , several pools (including children's pools and play-water park ) and sports facilities, ecological cultivation areas, app with smart home functions, dog pool (!), transfer to and from the airport in 15 minutes, jogging tours/biking routes, picnics -areas, beach club , 9 high-class restaurants, one with a Michelin star , own entrance and exit from the highway, etc. etc. For those who want to invest in an apartment for rent, this is undoubtedly the best choice on the western Costa del Sol. About construction time and the different phases of Higueron West 217
Higueron West is under full construction. Phases 1 to 5 are being built simultaneously and will be completed in 2020. Phase 5 will be completed in the first quarter of 2021. The official release of phases 4-5 has begun. Just like in the previous phases, you can reserve an apartment (you pay a refundable reservation amount) in the initial phase. Phase 6 is in the pre-launch phase (so you can pre-book and get a place in the queue to secure yourself if you are among the first to choose an apartment upon release) and it consists of 26 apartments. Phases 4-6 have roughly the same design as phases 1-3, while most of the phases have sea views.
The plans for phase 7-8 are still unclear, but it is likely that there will be villas/townhouses on the "cliff" that belongs to the project. We recommend that you buy in phases 1-6 as the prices are still good, and as usual you build on the most attractive land in the first stage.
Apartment with 2 bedrooms costs from €325,000. However, there are a limited number of apartments left in this price range (2-bedroom apartments are the most in demand).

Eco-friendly construction, luxury restaurants, huge green spaces, etc.
The area will be " eco friendly" with huge green areas, parks, cycle paths and electric bicycles and electric cars for rent for the residents. Botanical garden, organic gardens (where you can grow your own organic vegetables). There are restaurants (including a new Michelin restaurant), sky bars, shops, pharmacies, etc. directly in the immediate area. See list of restaurants in Reserva del Higueron.
Good access (own exit and entrance, "217") to the A7 highway and 15 minutes to Málaga airport, making it the closest area to the airport of all the "resorts" on the Costa del Sol.
Close to Carvajal train station (which goes directly to the airport) , and Fuengirola's 7 km long beach promenade. Beautiful views of mountains and sea from the homes.
The first phase consisted of a total of 76 apartments with 2, 3 or 4 bedrooms, between 82 and 115 square meters in size - ground floors with their own garden , and penthouses. The second phase was released on 1/26 and phase 3 had a pre-launch in April. During November, phases 4 and 5 were released - and phase 6 was released in January and pre-launch of phases 7 and 8 in April.. In total, so far there are over 500 homes that have been released for sale.
It is still unclear when the phases after phase 7-8 will go on sale. Note, however, that the prices rise for each phase (this applies to all projects on the Solkusten as the demand is huge.)
The interest is very high and Higueron West sells 5 times faster than the average project and it is marketed all over the world. Benalmadena is about a 15-20 minute taxi ride from the airport in Malaga.

4. 10% plus VAT is paid when 6 months of construction is complete
5. The final 70% plus VAT is paid upon transfer of the ownership documents, when construction is complete.
All payments are protected by a bank guarantee through Sabadell bank.
The project is already 80% paid and is basically owned by a large American investment company. Licenses etc. have been granted and construction is underway.
