Surf waves in Spanish Tarifa

If you would like to try surfing on the Costa del Sol in southern Spain, we recommend that you visit the surfing town of Tarifa. The city is populated by surfers and windsurfers from all over Europe due to its mild climate and strong winds.

There is also plenty of other things to do in Tarifa, which is right next to the southernmost point of all of mainland Europe. Africa is so close that you can clearly see Morocco from Tarifa.

At night, the small town is filled with happy surfers in search of a party, and during the day there is a lot to see and shop along the narrow little streets (it's not just surf shops).

The white beaches around Tarifa are a full ten kilometers long and there are several fine excursion destinations nearby: for example, well-preserved Roman ruins, spectacular bird watching, rock climbing, diving, and more. However, the city is most famous for its windsurfing and windsurfing!

But, don't let Tarifa's happy surfer character put you off if you want to bring the kids along for the ride. Tarifa is a quiet little town with a very relaxed and distinctive atmosphere.
