Many used homes in Spain are starting to become significantly worn out with problems with water damage etc. This applies in particular to buildings that were built before 2006 when the new building code was introduced. 20 the 2020s will look much like the early 2000s, i.e. with a predominant focus on new development .
The reason why it was mostly older homes that were sold in the 10 years that followed the financial crisis in 2008 was that there was basically no new development to choose from. There is now, but keep in mind that prices will rise every year in line with inflation, and that the best plots are those that for sale first.
