The residential area is ideally located and it is only a couple of minutes drive to the beach, restaurants and shops; as well as only a 5 minute walk to bus stops for the bus line to Fuengirola-Marbella.

Mijas Costa belongs to the municipality of Mijas, whose capital, Mijas Pueblo, the famous white village, is located high up. However, Mijas Costa is closer to the sea, next to the old "Swedish village" Fuengirola . There are several beaches in Mijas Costa and the largest, Calahonda, is 4500 meters long and 25 meters wide.
There are currently (more on the way) seven golf courses in Mijas Costa. El Chaparral Golf Club is considered to be one of the best golf courses on the Sunshine Coast.
