In spring 22, it was also announced that Nerja is investing in another new cycle path. The new project, which costs €660,000, will run from the connecting roundabout that leads to Burrianabeach in the eastern parts of the city, and all the way to Punta Lara/ Ladera in the west. The wide cycle path will go via Avenida de Pescia and N-340. Cycling from Punta Lara to Burrianabeach takes just 18 minutes.

How could such a large project sell out so quickly? One of the buyers summed it up best on our Facebookpage:

"Two months after launch, only two remain. There are always vacant listing and in the Nerja area overall there is quite a bit to choose from. But in the municipality Nerja and near the old town centre, the supply is limited, the price tag is high and many apartments are in need of modernisation. Many therefore do not find what they want. In this building you get state-of-the-art and winter-heated swimming pools, which are almost completely missing in Nerja, at a lower or equivalent price than for apartments built in the 70s. In addition, it is located directly adjacent to an established and mature development."

Several factors make this project stand out among other new development projects on Costa del Sol (such as being located in popular Nerja, the price , heated saltwater pool, that appliances and A/C etc. are included). Above all, however, it is the unique location near the sea, just below the cliffs, in a terrace-like position, that makes the new building stand out. In other places along Costa Del Sol new apartments are being built, and will be built, in the future. But there are basically no such areas close to the sea left, so the homes unfortunately end up far inland.

About upcoming new development for sale in Ladera and Nerja

There is absolutely no better, larger piece of land left to build on in Nerja than right here in Ladera del Mar.

There are not many plots left to build on in Nerja overall, but homes on some smaller plots will be launched in 2021.

In terms of the longer term, most people agree that it is the stretch between Nerja and Torrox that will be the one that will be newly built. However, there are currently very few projects underway and interest is doubtful as most are looking within the Nerja municipal boundaries. Also expect prices to rise sharply for each new project that is rolled out. We will return in our newsletter as soon as we know more about new development in Nerja.
