Torremolinos was for a long time one of the most popular towns on Costa del Sol. Then the town declined significantly. In recent years, however, the town has developed in a positive direction and has abandoned, as andalucia.com put it, “its Monthy Python … and chips image”. Torremolinos is once again an attractive coastal town with nice beaches, and a wide range of hotels and restaurants.

The future also looks very bright for the area since it was clear that “Intu Costa del Sol” in Torremolinos is planned to become the world's first "global resort ", a gigantic (235,000 sqm ) and innovative melting pot for art, relaxation, wind tunnel, rock climbing simulation, etc., shopping center, focus on food experiences, beach club, casino, as well as large areas dedicated exclusively to children, including a funfair. There will also be 2 hotels, a concert arena by the sea, over 70 restaurants, 262,000 sqm of green spaces inspired by “Central Park, but with the lushness of the Mediterranean and proximity to water”, conference facilities, Spain's largest urban farm, water-land, etc. etc. Intu Costa del Sol is ready for inauguration already in 2023. This investment will cost 800 million € and the Corona crisis did not stop it. It was hammered through that it will continue already in May, before the quarantines were released. This part of Spain is expected to become one of Europe's most popular tourist destinations.

As far as bank repossession in Torremolinos is concerned, the supply has more or less dried up completely. Facts Torremolinos:

  • The city is located only 7 kilometers west of Malaga so it is close to the airport.
  • Train connections take you directly to the airport in 10 minutes or to Malagatown center in 15 minutes. Fuengirola is also only 15 minutes away by train.  Guide Fuengirola.
  • The sleepy little fishing village Torremolinos was the first to develop into a tourist resort on Costa del Sol, this development taking place as early as the early 1960s.
  • The city mainly attracts tourists in the summer months, and then mainly a younger crowd. During the winter months, however, Torremolinos has a completely different, slightly more relaxed aura.
  • The city, which can basically be considered a suburb of the growing city Malagawith a population of over one million, has a very international aura overall when it comes to its range of restaurants and shops.

  • There are several golf courses near Torremolinos, such as Alhaurin and The Parador.
