Fuengirola is the main seat of the Scandinavian population on Costa del Sol and although lovely Nerja with the surrounding area has taken over as the most popular place for northerners on Costa Del Sol there are still many who want to buy their home in Spain in Fuengirola. Not least because they want to live near the Swedish School. The range for sale varies. Right now, however, there are several very affordable homes for sale in Fuengirola, such as 2-bedroom apartments for under €170,000 (most places on Costa del Sol are higher in price ). Tens of thousands of Swedes, Norwegians, Finns and Danes live here. Because there are so many Nordic people in the city, there are several different institutions and establishments with connections to the Nordic countries and Sweden, such as the Spanish Nordic Society and the Church of Sweden.

Fuengirola was originally a small sleepy fishing village, but has developed into a large town center for tourism. Although the city is not as cozy as Nerja, or international as Malaga , it is a very popular destination for many Europeans, and also for domestic tourism. The city is known for housing a very wide range of nationalities, which is also reflected in the range of restaurants.

Fuengirola has a wide range of bars, shops, restaurants and boasts an 8-kilometre long beach and a very nice marina. Fuengirolais also home to the Costa del Sol's only zoo.

The municipality, like so many other municipalities on Costa del Sol has also decided to invest in its own recovery from the Corona crisis. In June it became clear that a new port, with both shopping and restaurants, on a level with the Fuengirola promenade, is being built at a cost of €70 million

New Development Fuengirola

There are some exciting listing in the area at the moment. Centrally located. There are also some newly produced projects in Torreblanca.
