Playa de Maro diagonally below the village, (or Caleta de Maro), is a sheltered and blue flagged cove that according to Andalucia.com is “generally recognised as one of the best beaches in Andalusia, and indeed, in all of Spain”. The beach is a bit secluded with cliffs in the background with turquoise water, surrounded by unspoilt nature. It is also very popular with snorkellers and divers because the water is so clear and teeming with fish. The beach has all the facilities such as toilets, showers etc. There is also a small kiosk and a bar on the beach. There is also a family-run chiringuito which serves fresh sardines, among other things.
