The city of Nerja (belonging to the province of Malaga) in Andalusia is currently the hottest place to buy a home for Scandinavians. However, the supply is quickly running out in the city while nothing new is being built. Prices therefore rise quickly. So, where in Andalucia should anyone who isn't willing to pay at least 1.5 million for, say, a 2-bedroom apartment with sea views go? Right now we suggest Cadiz (alternatively Almeria or Almunecar )! The area, just like Nerja a genuine Spanish area, with beautiful nature, friendly population and good infrastructure with a growing tourism industry (which makes it increasingly easy to rent out your home here). The capital Cádiz is uniquely situated on a narrow strip of land surrounded by the sea. It is a typical Andalusian city, with a wide range of attractions in terms of nature as well as culture and history. Another gem in Cádiz is Sotogrande , which many mistakenly believe belongs to Marbella. It is in Sotogrande that the golf professionals live and several world-class golf courses can be found here. From the popular surf resort of Tarifa through the provinces of Cádiz all the way to the province of Huelva stretches the beautiful and unspoilt strip of coastline Costa de la Luz (Coast of Light), and in the background the rugged and beautiful mountains, Sierra de Cádiz, tower up. The area has not built as many hotels, apartments and houses as its neighbors on the Costa del Sol.
