Our hard work has thus begun to spread real rings in the water. We're really glad we didn't give up when the newspaper headlines were at their darkest and most speculative, and no one dared to bet. The accident crusts got it wrong. Spain did not slide into the Mediterranean. Things have stabilized in the world economy, and now people want to buy again.

Last week, Blocket.se presented figures showing that interest in buying a home abroad is growing strongly, and above all Swedes are interested in the Spanish housing market. The number of searches for Spanish homes on the Block increased last year from 79,000 to 91,000 (our percentage increase was similar). The most popular areas are Gran Canaria , Torrevieja, Mallorca, Barcelona and Nerja . Just Nerja is the search that increases the most on the entire top-ten list in terms of searches in the "abroad" category.

In addition, according to our reports, the fair in Stockholm last week was a great success. The Swedes will probably make more purchases during the year than they have done in the last five or six years.

But internationally, the desire is even greater

At the end of the year, we received several inquiries from abroad as they like our main broker Anders Larsson's good reputation and quality portfolio of homes. Soon we will be represented in seven countries – ten before the end of the year. We are currently establishing a contact in Russia and a person is translating our site into English. Germany and France, among others, who market our homes.

The international interest is mainly in the upper segment. There are, for example, many rich French people who are looking for homes in the south of Spain because of the tax burden in their home country etc. (of course it also has to do with the fact that you can make real cuts in the luxury segment right now). In Belgium, the interest in Spain is also huge at the moment. The Belgians primarily want, which we specialize in, homes that provide good income directly via rental .

This very thing with rental housing is a concept that we can offer extra services in from 2013, even for those who do not want a rental company to take care of all aspects. Services include cleaning companies and janitorial services, etc. In addition, you can quickly start renting out your apartment by purchasing a furniture package through us. We can even offer interior designers if you want to spruce up your new home with the help of a professional. In addition to that, we have also started collaboration with an association of architects in Marbella.

When we are now exposed to markets that collectively consist of over 100 million people, additional pressure is placed on us to expand the database of objects. Our customer base has simply grown too large for the relatively small Swedish market. Therefore, we have appointed a new employee to work on contacting home owners in Nerja and the surrounding area (an area that most investors consider to have the best future value). During 2013, we also continue to expand our portfolio of apartments and houses for rent, as our venture at Nerja-uthyrning.se was such a success!

A collaboration for both rental and sales has started with a new partner in Marbella, Mijas Costa and the other popular areas along the western Sol coast .

Finally, we have found a really good partner on the Costa Blanca ! We will shortly present more of their large selection of homes for sale and rent. In addition, we are in the process of negotiating with a Swedish broker who will be on site in the fall and manage our investment on the Costa Blanca. This venture will not only concentrate on classic Torrevieja, etc. We will also bet on the eastern, slightly less known, parts.

We are also negotiating with really good actors in other Spanish regions. In the autumn, we will offer homes for rent in, among other places, Mallorca and the Basque Country. Not because the Basque Country will become a cash cow right away, but because we like the area! Only the restaurants, which are absolutely world-class, around San Sebastian are worth the ticket!

The rental part in Nerja has been a lifeline for several brokerage firms during the crisis years. The figures veered sharply in some places, but in growing Nerja they remained stable. January 2013 started explosively and became an "all time high" month. All the numbers and all the signs, regardless of whether it concerns renting or selling in Spain, point in one direction - up.
