Fuengirola is the main seat of the Scandinavian population on the Costa del Sol and even though lovely Nerja and its surroundings have taken over as the most popular place for northerners on the Costa del Sol, there are still many people who want to buy their home in Spain in Fuengirola. Not least because you want to live near the Swedish School. The range that is for sale varies. Right now, however, there are several very affordable properties for sale in Fuengirola, such as 2-bedroom apartments for under €170,000 (most resorts on the Costa del Sol are higher in price). Tens of thousands of Swedes, Norwegians, Finns and Danes live here. Because there are so many Nordics in the city, several different institutions and establishments with connections to the Nordics and Sweden can be found here, such as the Spanish Nordic Society and the Swedish Church.

Fuengirola was originally a small sleepy fishing village, but has developed into a major center for tourism. Although the city is not as cozy as Nerja, or international as Malaga, it is a very popular destination for many Europeans, and also for domestic tourism. The city is known for housing a great many different nationalities, which is also widely seen in the range of restaurants.

Fuengirola has a wide range of bars, shops, restaurants and boasts an 8 kilometer beach strip and a very nice marina. Fuengirola is also home to the Sunshine Coast's only zoo.

The municipality, like so many other municipalities on the Costa del Sol, has decided to get out of the Corona crisis. In June it was clear that a new port , with shopping as well as restaurants, at the level of the promenade in Fuengirola is being built at a cost of €70 million

New Development Fuengirola

There are some exciting items in the area at the moment. Centrally located. There are also some newly produced projects in Torreblanca. We keep an eye on the area and immediately send out information in our newsletter when something new appears on the market (but keep in mind that there is not much interesting land left to build on in the area) in Fuengirola, Los Boliches, Torreblanca and the surrounding area.

As for bank objects, these are basically completely sold out in the area. There are still some bank repossessors for sale, but they are in very poor condition or located by highways etc. So we don't recommend them.
