We highly recommend this affordable project Albatross near the beach in Torrox Costa. A total of 12 apartments. 1-3 bedrooms. The prices are markedly better than the other projects in the same location (most of which have recently sold out), of the same standard that are currently being sold, and which only go up in price with each new phase.
Tip: Recommended for those looking for a house in the Nerja area these houses in this project (one just came back in sold out project),
Albatros is located close to the beach next to the newly built Dunas, Panorama and Marinsa . The beach is on the other side of the N340 road (crosswalk), 200 meters as the crow flies. Around the building is a supermarket and it is close to a cluster of restaurants, shops, pharmacies etc.

We posted information about this project a couple of months before release and those who expressed interest then received the information, when it was ready, a week in advance.
Update 3/14. Now only two apartments remain. 1 and 7. From €149,5000 We also recommend the 3-bedroom apartment, which is located at the top. €320,000.
Due to the low prices, the beach location (and the excellent floor plans by one of our favorite architects), we consider all apartments to be of interest, but below are some examples:

Good buying situation
We would like to compare this project with Colina Alta in Nerja which was launched in the middle of an intense new wave of Covid. The prices were attractive enough to sell despite the uncertain situation, and now some years later construction is progressing faster than expected and there are no similar projects at those prices on the horizon in Nerja. It often pays to buy when it's darkest, just like with shares.
It is also important to point out that the Spanish housing market is in a completely different phase than the Swedish one. Spain broke sales records in the first half of the year and prices have gone up. It is now judged that they are slowing down rather than falling. In terms of new development there will be fewer projects for a period to come, which keeps prices up as demand is still strong (there is a strong desire for newly built homes as the stock starts to wear out). Expect sharp price increases on new development as early as 2024, when it is expected that both inflation and interest rates will go down again.
2019 prices
The Albatros project was launched just as the pandemic broke out in 2022, and the builders then gave all buyers the opportunity to get the reservation back. The prices have basically not changed since then. This means that it is the 2019 prices of the project (the increase in the price is minimal since then)l! The reason for the low prices compared to, for example, Nerja and existing apartments in Torrox is, among other things, that plot prices are much higher in Nerja, and are also rising in Torrox. However, the builders have been sitting on this plot for a long time, bought it cheap. Another important factor is that the builder and the promoter are one and the same, which enables a cheaper price.
Over the years, we have not been exactly effusive in our recommendations regarding Torrox, but with everything positive that has happened there in recent years (with all the new projects, the infrastructure and general beautification of the area has improved markedly) and their great intention to be ” the eastern side's Benahavis" as the mayor put it last summer, we are increasingly positive about Torrox as a municipality to recommend to anyone who wants to live or invest in a Spanish home. We have also noted how the projects that have popped up next to Albatros near the beach consistently receive good ratings from guests on sites such as Booking etc.
New marina and golf course
As previously mentioned, those who govern Torrox, together with the business community and Junta Andalucia, have big plans for this part of the Costa del Sol. In the next few years, they plan to build a new golf course (which will be the area's third in total) in parallel with a new, modern marina.
Distance:
- 2 minutes to the beach on foot. You can walk along the beach throughout Torrox towards Nerja. In the other direction along the beach or the road is El Morche with its pleasant restaurants.
- 10 minutes by car to Nerja.
- 45 minutes by car to Malaga airport.
Payment plan : €5,000 plus VAT in reserve. 20% plus VAT (minus the reserve) in case of purchase agreement. 10% plus VAT spread during construction. Any bank loan is only activated upon moving in.
The project has a building license and construction is expected to start in February already. Construction time approximately 18 months.

There is a plot of land with green areas right in front of Albatros. Something may be built here in the future (next to Panorama beach) but it is worth pointing out that there must be 100 meters between the buildings.
There are some other new apartments for sale in Torrox such as Calaceite but these are around €290,000 for 2 bedrooms. However, several of the homes sold in several projects are under production, so there is a shorter waiting time for moving in. The question is, however, do you consider it worth the higher price?
