Attractive plots for sale in southern Spain

Not so long ago, plots of land in popular parts of southern Spain were very expensive. Prices, like housing prices, fell significantly during the crisis years. By 2012, land prices in good urban locations in Spain had already fallen by 50% since 2007. The collapse of land prices was much more acute than that of housing, as the demand for land for a period was more or less non-existent. Especially for rural ones. In recent years, however, land prices have skyrocketed. Our lawyer has been scanning the entire stretch of coast between Nerja and Marbella for a long time (he started several years ago when he saw the first signs that things would turn around). In addition, he has fine-tuned La Herradura and its surroundings (which may well become a future area when Nerja becomes too expensive for most people) on the Costa Tropical. . There is still a lot of good land available, which people had planned to buy up and start building on just before the crisis hit. For example, there are no large plots of land left at all in Nerja, and on the western side you have to look further up land to be able to find plots to build on. One of the major banks we work with has at the time of writing over 300 bank repossessed plots for sale in the province of Malaga alone (from €48,000), around 20 in the province of Granada (from €15,500), hundreds in Alicante (from €6,000). There is cheap land for sale in all Spanish provinces (even in central areas of cities such as Madrid, Barcelona and Seville) including the Canary Islands and Mallorca. These are plots and land along the coasts, in rural locations, in cities, commercial zones, "skeleton projects" and industrial land, etc. The opportunities for a good investment in Spain have never been greater.

A few words of caution: You should be aware that many, this applies in particular to plots in the country, areas are highly regulated and it is quite a minefield to find a good piece of land that has licenses etc. in order. Buy NOTHING without a lawyer (especially if you're buying privately), and lean on the eternal truth "if it's too good to be true, it isn't."
