The prices of newly built apartments on the Costa Blanca in general and in Torrevieja in particular are still relatively low. Few are willing to buy used listing when you can get new development , fresh apartments for under €150,000. Torrevieja is one of the most popular towns along the coast and is, together with the regional capital Alicante a very good starting point for those who have not yet explored this part of Spain.
About Torrevieja
Torrevieja is located about 60 kilometers south of Alicante airport. The city has about 100,000 inhabitants and was originally a fishing village and a major exporter of salt (Swedish and Dutch ships were responsible for the shipping). The salt lakes located near Torrevieja are said to be among the healthiest places in the world.
There are also lovely markets and town center for shopping, beaches, water fountains, nature parks, world-class restaurants and much more. Perhaps the most popular area for those looking to settle in Torrevieja is La Mata in the north-east. We also recommend that you look at apartments in nearby Orihuela which is very nice.
The areas we recommend are mainly La Mata, La Zenia, Atos de la Bahia and Villa Martin.
